I haven't gotten the flu shot regularly because I haven't been part of an at-risk or particularly exposed population, but I have had the flu a couple of times and boy did it suck. But that just means your body recognized the fake viruses and are making the right white blood cells to combat them when the real (live) ones show up. Thank you, Daycare lol. I agree. If they didn’t guess right, they change the batch to see which strain to include for the rest of that year. I am in the same boat and the only time I ever got the flu was the one year I got the flu shot. Close family who don’t get the flu shot... Just wondering, has anyone else’s closest family members including your babies father not gotten the flu shot? I have am paranoid about eppiglotitis. Should i see a psychiatrist or something? We respect everyone’s right to express their thoughts and opinions as long as they remain respectful of other community members, and meet What to Expect’s Terms of Use.

They couldn't definitively say that the two weeks I spent barely able to breathe hurt the baby, but they couldn't rule it out either. I never get sick for more than a day, unlike a real flu. For what it's worth, in my case the only side effect I had was a tender injection site for a couple of days.
My five year (4 at the time) old ended up with the it and end of the flu season (this past April). Has flu season peaked?

Everyone’s toddler that received flu shot in my family, got the flu and a severe case. heard so much paranoia and fear tactics used against getting the flu vaccine. I typically don't do it but wanted to due to the pregnancy. I got it when I was 7 or 8 weeks pregnant. And I agree with the PP. Check out these great resources.

I had no reactions from it other than a sore arm. The flu is highly contagious, so are you just not going to go to the store for groceries, not have anything shipped to your house, etc? Yes, they do miss the strain some years.
